We are now looking for 4 Cross-Trust Cover Supervisors to work across our secondary schools in the borough. Based at Maiden Erlegh School in Reading, these roles will be deployed across our schools as and when needed.

These roles are instrumental in the day-to-day smooth running of our school and its classrooms. Our Cover Supervisors provide classroom-based supervision in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students learning isn’t compromised and that behaviour management practices are understood.

The successful candidates must possess;

  • Good communication skills

  • Self-confidence and a positive attitude
  • The ability to move between Maiden Erlegh Trust schools as and when needed, and the relevant insurance required to cover these commutes.

The successful applicants will be energetic and enthusiastic and enjoy working with 11-16-year-olds. You will enjoy nurturing young people to grow in confidence and flourish personally. You will share our inclusive values of “opportunity, diversity and success for all” and you will have a willingness to develop your own practice in line with our ethos of continuous improvement.

Since 2014, when Maiden Erlegh Trust was established, we have expanded to become six schools serving Berkshire and South Oxfordshire covering the breadth of educational provision from EYFS to Post-16 in mainstream, special and alternative provision.  All our  schools benefit from talented teaching teams, including all our exceptional support staff, and we are very proud of our vibrant, diverse and engaging students who work hard and have high aspirations.

We have a proven track record of supporting ambitious staff in to middle and senior leadership posts and can offer opportunities to broaden your impact on the sector through the work of the Maiden Erlegh Institute. We are very happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, including part-time working and job-sharing.
