11th July: English Language and Linguistics Taster Day on Language and Social Media
Our taster days are designed to give students the opportunity to discover what it would be like to study at degree level. On these free of charge days, students will sample lectures and activity based learning, work alongside other students interested in the subject, visit our beautiful award-winning campus, meet our enthusiastic staff and students, and get a real feel for student life at the University of Reading.
For more information about our taster days and for the individual online booking form please visit: https://www.reading.ac.uk/ready-to-study/visiting-and-open-days/taster-sessions.aspx.
Unable to make these events?
If you or your students are not able to make it onto our Campus for one of these events then here are some other ways you can find out about us and our courses.
We are keen to launch a series of digital taster sessions online for English to give students a taste of our teaching. If you are interested in taking part in our pilots please email us at Englishemail@example.com
If you are interested in BA in English Literature or BA English Language and Linguistics then you may find the ‘Your Degree in a Nutshell’ documents of use. These booklets layout the degree pathways you can take and provide examples of modules students can study. These documents can be found at the bottom of this page.
Our Twitter pages are kept up to date with events and news from the Departments. Our English Literature page is regularly maintained by our students as part of their ‘student take over’ during which they give explain what it is like to be a student with us. Their Facebook page will also be celebrating World Book Night on 23rd April which we hope will be an exciting event. English Language’s twitter page can be found here.
