Cranbury College joins Maiden Erlegh Trust

Maiden Erlegh Trust is delighted to announce that Cranbury College has today, 1 August 2020, joined the Trust. All those involved are looking forwards to continuing our collaboration on a number of exciting initiatives which will support children and young people both at Cranbury College and other Maiden Erlegh Trust Schools, in addition to other establishments across the local area. Together we will also be able to provide opportunities for professional development and support for staff in local mainstream and special schools.

Mary Davies, Chief Executive Officer of Maiden Erlegh Trust, said: “I am thrilled to be able to welcome Cranbury College into the Maiden Erlegh community. I have been so impressed by the staff and their professionalism and compassion which means that every learner is determined and able to maximise every opportunity presented to them. Maiden Erlegh Trust is committed to building on the many strengths of Cranbury College and working with them to be able to provide for more young people both at the college and through outreach work.”

The Headteacher of Cranbury College, Mandy Wilton said: “We are all absolutely delighted to be joining Maiden Erlegh Trust.  It is clearly dedicated to being an Education Trust for the whole community and working with the Alternative Provision sector demonstrates how inclusive the Trust is.  We are excited about the potential for all of our students and the excellent professional opportunities to work with our colleagues in MET schools and our wider school community in Reading and neighbouring authorities”

Prof Dr Kate Reynolds, Director of Education at Brighter Futures for Children, said: “The Maiden Erlegh Trust has an excellent track record of running schools in Reading and the surrounding areas and I am sure its experience and commitment to quality teaching will help Cranbury College to flourish.  Cranbury College plays a vital role in the support and development of young learners in Reading and joining the Maiden Erlegh Trust will allow more pupils to benefit from the dedication and professionalism of its staff.”

Nick Jones, Chair of Maiden Erlegh Trust Board, said: “We have been working with Cranbury College to forge a highly successful and much valued partnership which has already enriched the prospects for young people in our care and so we are delighted to now formally and warmly welcome this impressively able and compassionate team of people to our Trust. I thank them for joining with us to further strengthen the moral and inclusive reach of our offer to local families and communities.”
