Central Services

The Trust charges a central service fee, or 'topslice' from which it funds a variety of activities to support our partner schools in carrying out their stautory responsibilities as well as providing a range of business support services.

The 'topslice' charge is determined by Trustees on an annual basis and is only applied to General Annual Grant funding.

In return for the topslice contribution, partner schools can expect the following support:

Core Business Support

  • Centralised Business Management, Accounting and Audit, including all DfE/ESFA returns
  • Centralised Finance and Procurement system (PS Financials) and associated processes
  • Centralised Legal, HR and Payroll
  • GDPR Compliance Support
  • ICT Support
  • Recruitment
  • Marketing
  • Staff Training and Development
  • Estates Management
