Through our Lead Partner work at Maiden Erlegh Institute, Maiden Erlegh Trust plays a strategic role in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) across the region. We support schools to recruit, train and retain future teachers by working in partnership with universities and delivering a well-managed placement programme across both primary and secondary phases. 

Our offer includes: 

✔️ End-to-end recruitment support – We help schools identify high-potential PGCE candidates aligned with their needs. 
✔️ Placement organisation – We handle logistics and offer practical support throughout the process. 
✔️ Funding for hosting schools – We can offer financial support to help with placement-related costs. 
✔️ SEND and mainstream options – We support general and specialist placements. 
✔️ Ongoing contact and guidance – Schools and trainees benefit from structured support and advice throughout. 

We currently support over 20 schools and offer access to trainees from top-tier ITT providers. Subject areas include: 

• Primary and Primary SEND 

• Secondary – Art & Design, Biology, Business & Economics, Chemistry, Computing, Design & Technology, Drama, English, Geography, History, Languages, Mathematics, Music, PE, Physics 

Our work is underpinned by strong relationships with universities, including the University of Reading and University of Roehampton, who recognise the value that working with us delivers.
