About Us

“Recognise and celebrate our heroes and she-roes.” – Maya Angelou

At MET, we believe remembrance is more than reflection – it is a call to action. As we mark Remembrance Day, we honour the courage and sacrifice of all who fought for freedom, including those whose stories are less often told—such as the men and women who served in the Far East during the Second World War.

VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day), commemorated on 15 August, marked the end of the war in the Pacific 80 years ago and brought peace after years of hardship. For many, this day symbolises resilience, unity, and hope – a reminder that even in the darkest times, perseverance can lead to peace, even when that conflict is so far away from our own shores.

Education has the power to transform these lessons from history into values that shape the future. Through our schools, we ensure that these stories live on – not as distant memories, but as inspirations for our students to become compassionate, courageous, and responsible students. By teaching the importance of service, sacrifice, and peace, we empower young people to build a world worthy of those who gave their today for our tomorrow.

“If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbours.
If there is to be peace between neighbours,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home, …"
