Flora Cooper joined Maiden Erlegh Trust in January 2026. She is Executive Headteacher of John Rankin Schools, a role she has held since September 2022. In this capacity, Flora provides strategic leadership across the schools, with a focus on securing high standards of education, developing staff, and fostering effective collaboration to drive sustained improvement.

Flora began her teaching career in 2005. From 2013 to 2022, she was Headteacher of Crowmarsh Gifford Primary School in Oxfordshire.  Prior to this, she served as Deputy Headteacher at Sonning Common Primary School. Early in her career, Flora also spent four years as a member of the General Teaching Council, contributing to national work on professional standards within education.

Flora completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2009, gained a Master’s in Education in 2014, and completed the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL) in 2025. She also holds coaching qualifications and supports leaders within her own school but also, in her own time, as a burnout prevention and resilient leadership coach. Her professional interests include leadership development and collaborative approaches to school improvement.  Outside of work, Flora also enjoys writing, and regular training sessions at the gym.
