We are seeking to recruit a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting young people in a secondary school setting. The role is instrumental to helping students close the gap in their learning surrounding literacy.

This post will suit someone who can demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and the ability to support students in English, and across all secondary age groups. You will have a flexible approach and will be able to meet the changing needs of our young people.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with secondary school aged students.
  • A demonstrable commitment to raising opportunities and progression of our learners and support them in all aspects of their learning in their lessons.
  • The ability to plan, organise and lead high quality learning activities for individuals and small groups.

Our school is an ambitious, over-subscribed 11-16 secondary school in an urban context which is as committed to the welfare of students and staff as it is our high-quality education. Our school benefits from excellent, modern facilities and teaching spaces, and we are very proud of our vibrant, diverse and engaging students who work hard and have high aspirations.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and enjoy working with 11-16-year olds. You will enjoy nurturing young people to grow in confidence and flourish personally. You will share our inclusive values of “opportunity, diversity and success for all” and you will have a willingness to develop your own practice in line with our ethos of continuous improvement.

In return, you will be joining our supportive team of tenacious, optimistic and talented Teaching Assistants who have the support of an experienced leadership team.

If you would like to have an informal chat or visit the school, please email our recruitment team on who can help organise this.
