  • 1.0FTE

As Head of English, you will oversee the subject provision across Hamilton School and Cranbury College. You will ensure high standards of teaching and learning are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively, and the curriculum is managed and developed across these special school settings, in accordance with Trust and school policy. You will also provide support with annual departmental plans, appraisals, the resourcing of the department, promote an ethos of teamwork and establish a culture of sharing good practice.

Working with extremely talented, driven, and inspirational colleagues, this is a really exciting time to be joining the SEND and Alternative Provision Hub within Maiden Erlegh Trust; which is made up of Cranbury College, Hamilton School and the soon to open Oak Tree School.

You will need the ability to lead and manage people to work towards a common goal, as well as good decision-making skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

As a teacher, you will have excellent subject knowledge and experience of teaching at KS3-5 and be able to work closely with others. Being up-to-date with professional developments in English and other aspects of education is equally important.

Being part of the Maiden Erlegh Trust also offers a range of career opportunities across our schools. We have a proven track record of supporting ambitious staff in to middle and senior leadership posts and can offer opportunities to broaden your impact on the sector through the work of the Maiden Erlegh Institute.

We are very happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, including part-time working and job-sharing.
