Teacher of English plus Reading Lead

This is an opportunity for an experienced teacher with a passion for English to be instrumental in helping our students overcome their barriers to learning and encourage them to engage in lessons to become more effective learners, and to improve their academic and pastoral progress. You will ensure high standards of teaching and learning are delivered to small groups of students across key stages 3-5 and in return we will give you a varied, diverse and rewarding working environment
Alongside your teaching commitments, this role will also lead on the schools reading and oracy programme and interventions and closely support the Head of English to develop and improve Literacy across the curriculum as well as helping develop the English Curriculum as a whole.
The successful applicant will have a proven track record or ability to demonstrate a passion to teach young people with social, emotional and mental health issues. Additionally, you will have a demonstrable commitment to transforming the lives of young people coupled with an abundance of enthusiasm which will encourage engagement and commitment from our students
